FAQ

Before You Ride With LAK TOURS

Our cycling tours are designed for travelers who want active experiences, local culture, beautiful countryside routes and safe support while exploring the Central Highlands of Vietnam.

1. Where is LAK TOURS based?

LAK TOURS is based in Dak Lak Province in Vietnam’s Central Highlands. Our main cycling routes start from Buon Ma Thuot and connect guests with coffee farms, countryside roads, Lak Lake and selected highland routes toward Dalat.

2. What kind of tours does LAK TOURS organize?

LAK TOURS focuses on guided cycling tours in the Central Highlands. Our main programs include a one day Buon Ma Thuot coffee countryside ride, a two day cycling escape to Lak Lake and a three day cycling journey from Buon Ma Thuot to Lak Lake and Dalat.

3. Do I need to be an experienced cyclist?

You do not need to be a professional cyclist, but you should be comfortable riding a bicycle for several hours. The one day tour is suitable for most active travelers, while the two day and three day tours require better fitness and some cycling confidence.

4. Which tour is best for beginners?

The Buon Ma Thuot Coffee And Countryside Ride is the best choice for beginners. It is a one day ride with a flexible distance, local stops, coffee farm scenery and a comfortable pace, making it a good introduction to cycling in Dak Lak.

5. Which tour is best for travelers who want a deeper local experience?

The Buon Ma Thuot To Lak Lake Cycling Escape is ideal for travelers who want more time in the countryside. This two day tour includes cycling through coffee landscapes, an overnight stay near Lak Lake, village roads, local food and a slower connection with highland life.

6. Which tour is the most challenging?

The three day Buon Ma Thuot To Lak Lake And Dalat Cycling Journey is the most challenging tour. It includes longer riding days, changing terrain, rolling hills and a greater sense of adventure across the Central Highlands.

7. How far do we cycle each day?

The one day tour usually covers around 30 to 45 kilometers. The two day tour covers around 70 to 100 kilometers in total. The three day tour may cover around 160 to 220 kilometers depending on route selection, weather, road conditions and group fitness.

8. Can the cycling distance be adjusted?

Yes. LAK TOURS can adjust the cycling distance based on guest fitness, weather, road conditions and available time. On longer tours, a support vehicle can help guests skip less scenic, busier or more difficult sections when needed.

9. Is a support vehicle included?

A support vehicle is recommended and normally arranged for multi day tours. It helps with luggage, drinking water, route support, rest breaks and comfort. For the one day tour, support arrangements depend on group size and route design.

10. What kind of bikes are provided?

We normally provide mountain bikes or hybrid bikes suitable for countryside roads and mixed terrain. Bike type may vary depending on availability, group size and tour requirements. Guests may also request upgraded bikes if available.

11. Are helmets included?

Yes. Helmets are included in our cycling tours. We strongly recommend that all guests wear helmets during the ride for safety, even on easy countryside sections.

12. What should I wear for the cycling tour?

Comfortable sports clothing, breathable shirts, cycling shorts or flexible pants, sunglasses and closed toe shoes are recommended. During the rainy season, guests should bring a light rain jacket. Sunscreen is also useful for open countryside sections.

13. What should I bring with me?

We recommend bringing a small daypack, sunscreen, sunglasses, personal medication, a refillable water bottle, phone, camera and light rain protection. For overnight tours, guests should bring simple travel clothing and personal toiletries.

14. Are meals included?

Meals are included as mentioned in each tour program. The one day tour normally includes lunch. Overnight and multi day tours include selected meals during the journey, usually with a focus on simple local food and practical cycling comfort.

15. What kind of accommodation is used on overnight tours?

Accommodation may include a homestay, guesthouse, lodge or simple local hotel depending on the tour route and availability. Near Lak Lake, the focus is on atmosphere, comfort and a close connection to the local landscape rather than luxury.

16. Is travel insurance required?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all guests joining cycling tours. Insurance should cover outdoor activities, personal accident, medical support, trip interruption and personal belongings.

17. What happens if the weather is bad?

If the weather is unsafe or uncomfortable, LAK TOURS may adjust the route, delay the start, shorten the cycling distance or use the support vehicle for selected sections. Guest safety and comfort are always more important than completing a fixed distance.

18. What is the best season for cycling in Dak Lak?

Cycling in Dak Lak can be enjoyable in different seasons, but the most comfortable months are usually during the drier and cooler periods. The coffee harvest season can also be visually interesting because guests may see more activity around farms and local roads.

19. Can private tours be arranged?

Yes. Most LAK TOURS cycling programs can be arranged as private tours for solo travelers, couples, families, friends or small groups. Private tours allow more flexibility with pace, stops, accommodation style and route planning.

20. How do I book a cycling tour with LAK TOURS?

You can contact LAK TOURS through the website contact page and share your preferred travel date, number of guests, cycling experience, preferred tour and any special requests. Our team will suggest the best route, confirm availability and prepare a suitable quotation.
