A Personal Journey Back To The Highlands
LAK TOURS was founded by Ryan Truong, a Vietnamese tourism entrepreneur whose life has been shaped by travel, culture, people and the open road.
From Inbound Tour Guide To Central Highlands Cycling Founder
Ryan Truong spent more than ten years working as an inbound tour guide in Vietnam, guiding international travelers through cities, countryside, heritage sites and local communities. Those years gave him a deep understanding of what foreign guests truly look for when they come to Vietnam: honest stories, local connection, good organization and real human experiences.
After his guiding career, Ryan started his own journey in tourism and team building in Ho Chi Minh City. He built and operated travel, event and corporate team building programs for both local and international clients, learning how to design experiences that are safe, meaningful, active and professionally delivered.
Having also lived in Europe, Ryan developed a strong appreciation for slower travel, cycling culture, outdoor lifestyles and the importance of balance. These experiences later became part of the inspiration behind LAK TOURS.
Why Ryan Returned To Dak Lak
In 2024, Ryan began spending more time back in Dak Lak Province, living closer to his elderly mother and reconnecting with the land, people and slower rhythm of the Central Highlands.
A Healthier Way To Work And Live
After many years of building businesses in Ho Chi Minh City, Ryan chose a different direction: a life with more fresh air, more movement, more nature and more balance. Cycling became not only a tourism product, but also a personal way to stay healthy, grounded and connected to the place he calls home.
LAK TOURS was born from this decision. It is not designed as a mass tourism brand. It is a small, personal and locally rooted cycling tour company that helps guests experience the Central Highlands through active travel, local culture and meaningful routes.
